7/8" BACKSET Vintage Antique Old Salvaged Reclaimed Steel Door Privacy Mortise Lock Lockset Turn Bolt Thumb Latch

Ultra rare, antique lockset salvaged from Northeastern PA. The set consists of 1 barrel lock and 1 thumb-turn with oval plate. Except for the rod/bolt which is made of cast iron, all parts are solid brass.

It's extremely rare to find such a small lock with a 1" backset--great for doors and windows with thin stiles.

All parts have a lovely patina (tarnish), which gives the parts a nice, distressed finish.

The plate and lock were difficult to remove from the door, and we put a dent near one of the screw holes of the plate and 2 more around the rim of the barrel. These are just "character marks" that give the pieces a cool, distressed look and have no bearing over their functionality.

We greased the inside of the barrel to facilitate the rod's movement. The lock is in great condition, and ready to serve for another lifetime.
