* Although there are 2 doors available, the list price is for 1 door only. If you are planning on buying only 1 door please email us to let us know which door you'd like. The first 3 photos show Door#1 and last 4 show Door#2.
* Please note that the 26"x77.5" in the title is just an estimate. Neither door is exactly that size. Please see "Dimensions" below.
Beautiful, antique, interior doors salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The doors are made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and painted on both sides. They have 5 raised, horizontal, stacked panels on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.
Hardware: No hardware included, however, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.
* If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote.
Uneven Size: The height of both doors were unevenly cut by 1/4". The cuts were made most likely to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut either door to an even height/width, cut them shorter/narrower, or even build them up to a larger size--message us for a quote.
Condition: The doors have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. The worst damage is a small break on the bottom, lock-stile corner of exterior side of Door#2 (see last photo). Otherwise, both doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition and most of the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".
Swing: Door#1 is set up to swing into a room towards the right or away from the room towards the left. Door #2 swings in the opposite direction. We can modify either door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.
Modification: Do you want to make a pair using these 2 doors? Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the heights or widths, reverse the swings, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
