Beautiful, vintage andirons salvaged from Northeastern PA. Both the guards (fronts) and shanks (log holders) are cast iron.

Each guard has a lovely, classic design with cup/urn top, faux hammered dents, bulbous and tapered bodies, and curved legs with reeded details.

At the point of salvage, the andirons were dirty and ashy. We disassembled them and wiped the guards with an oily rag and used steel wool on the shanks to remove the build up. The original, black paint of the first pair and the spray-painted gold paint of the second pair is still sharp and shows few signs of wear. There is some light rust on the shanks, which could be removed with some fine steel wool, however, we feel that's part of the charm of buying old, used items so we left the rust.

All parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, dents, gouges, or rot (deep corrosion).
