24"x77" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Victorian Pantry Wood Wooden Doors 5 Panels

Elegant, antique, interior door salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern, PA. It's made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

The door has a Victorian style, 4-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels. The panels are raised on both sides.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out the "Hardware" section of our store).

Quirks & Considerations:

Both door has a thin (1/16" - 1/8") gaps (last photo). This is not a serious issue and the door could still be installed and used for decades without the gaps widening. However, we could close the gaps and reinforce/secure them using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints)--message us for a quote.

The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cut was made most likely to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even 77 1/4", cut it shorter/narrower, or even build it up to a larger size--message us for a quote.

Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that the doors have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right, or away from the room towards the left. We could modify it to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
