2 available 30"x79" Antique Vintage Old SOLID Colonial Interior SOLID Wood Wooden Door 6 Six Panels
* Although there are 2 doors available, the list price is for 1 door only. If you are planning on buying only 1 door please message us after the auction to let us know which door you'd like. The first 3 photos show Door#1 and the last 3 show Door#2.
* Please note that the 30"x78" in the title is just an estimate. Neither door is exactly that size. Please see "Dimensions" below.
Charming, antique, interior doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The doors are made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine, and are completely painted.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.
The doors have a Colonial style design with 6 raised panels on both sides: 2 small panels on top, 2 long panels in the middle, and 2 smaller panels on the bottom.
Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).
* If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote.
Uneven Size: The height and width of Door#1 were unevenly cut by 1/4" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 29 3/4"x78 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make them bigger--email us for a quote.
Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in excellent condition. They only have nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".
Strip/Refinish: We could refinish or partially or completely strip the door(s) to prepare it/them for you to repaint or refinish. We have MANY photos of doors that we've restored that could give you an idea of how this door could clean up. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
Swing: Door#1 is set up to swing into a room towards the right, or away from a room towards the left. Door#2 swings in the opposite direction. We can change the swing of either door--Message us for a quote.
Modification: Want to use both of these doors as a pair? We could also modify the door(s) to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the heights or widths, replace wooden panels with glass, reverse the swings, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
