24"x80"x1.75" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Entry Door Window NO GLASS

Grand, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old building in Cleveland, OH. The door has a solid pine core covered in a 1/16" thick Birch veneer. The door is stained on both sides.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike  the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are  1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. This door could be refinished a couple of times without sanding down to the core wood.

If you think that pine is a weak, soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber.

The door has a single window without any glass. We could add glass to the door--message us for a quote.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our store).

Condition: Considering the door is well over 100 years old, it is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges or any other serious issues. There is a break on the bottom rail of the exterior side (see last photo). Most of the blemishes that it has will  disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a home towards the right, or away from the home towards the left. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
