28"x77" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Wood Wooden Interior Closet Pantry Door Panels

Handsome, interior door salvaged  from an old home in Northeastern PA. The  door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted white on both  sides.  It has 6 recessed (flat), horizontal panels on  both sides. The door weighs 40lbs.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine  hewn  from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from   trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than   young  pine.

Hardware: The  door  is not equipped with any hardware.  However, we  have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Uneven Size: The  height and width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4" - 3/8" at some point,  most  likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor.  We  could cut it  to an even 27 7/8"x76 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it  bigger--email us for  a quote.

Condition: One of the panels has a crack from side to side (see  last photo). We could replace the panel--email us for a quote.

Otherwise, the door is strong, sturdy, and in great condition   with only the common scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you usually   find on old, used doors. These  are minor cosmetic blemishes, which will mostly be removed during the finishing  process  and whatever remains will be covered if painted or appear as a  character mark if  stained.

Refinish/Repaint: We   could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare    it for you to repaint or refinish. See   the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email   us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a   quote.

Swing: The door is set up to swing inwardly towards the right, or outwardly towards the left.  We can modify the door to swing in the opposite   direction--email us for a quote.
