Beautiful, antique, French door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid pine or Douglas fir The door is stained on both sides.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have   the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is also   much harder and stronger than young pine

The door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows with old glass.

Hardware: The door does not come equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Uneven Size: The width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/2" and the height by 3/4". The cuts were most likely made to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even height/width, cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it larger--message us for a quote.

Condition: The door is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It has the typical scrapes,   scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. The door has a small break on the top of the interior side lock-stile (see last photo). Otherwise, there are no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, or warp. The small blemishes they have will disappear or diminish drastically after stripping and sanding.

All of the glass is intact and in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left, or away from the room towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: Do you want to replace the glass with wooden panels, screen/mesh, or something  else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the  hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like  done, and we'll give you a quote.
