30"x77" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged SOLID Interior Wood Wooden Room Apartment Door 5 Panels

Elegant, antique interior door salvaged from an old, home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The  door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and has 5 raised panels on both sides. The door is painted on the exterior side and stained on the interior side.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft   wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have   the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities   that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old  have. Old pine is also   much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware:
The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good  selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay  store).

Uneven Width: The width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cut was most likely made to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even height/width, cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it larger--message us for a quote.

Condition: Considering the door is well over 100 years old, it is strong, sturdy and in good condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. there is a break on the interior side of the lock-stile as well as dent on the top hinge-mortise (see last photo). The door also has 2 split panels (see 4th photo). Expansion and contraction occurs naturally due to changes in temperature, and  the cracks are just a result of this process over the course of many years. It  may sound funny, but when the panel expanded and reached its limits within its openings or frames; it was unable to stretch out any further, and ultimately cracked in the center to relieve their stress or tension.

Otherwise, most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and  whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Modification: We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your  needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give  you a quote.
