Heavy, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old building in Cleveland, OH. The door has a solid hardwood core covered in a 1/16" thick Birch veneer. The door is painted on both sides.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike  the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/16" thick and provides strength and stability to the door. This door could be refinished without sanding down to the core wood.

The door has a single window without any glass. We could add glass to the door--message us for a quote.

Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it (check out the "Hardware" section our store).

Uneven Height: The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cut was most likely made to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut it to an even height or width, build them it to be taller/wider, or even cut it to be narrower/shorter--message us for a quote.

Quirks & Considerations: The door is missing all but 1 piece of molding on its interior side. The molding is flat, simple, and is just meant to hold the glass in place. This type of molding could be picked up at any hardware store. If you prefer, we could add the 3 pieces of missing molding--message us for a quote.

Condition: Considering the door is well over 100 years old, it is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges or any other serious issues. The worst flaw is a small break in the veneer on the bottom corner of the exterior hinge-stile (see 4th photo). Most of the blemishes the door has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a home towards the left, or away from a home towards the right. We could modify it to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote

Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the height or width, add glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
