30"x83"x1.75" Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Oak Solid Wood Wooden Interior Door 5 Panels

* We originally had 2 of these available. The last 2 photos show one of the doors that we modified for a customer to give you an idea of what we could do with this door that's for sale.

Elegant, robust, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door has a solid hardwood (cherry or maple) cores covered with 1/8" thick, quartersawn and riftsawn veneers. It is stained on the front side and painted gray on the other side.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior  quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and  furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and  stability to the door.

Hardware: The door is not  equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good    selection of  hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay  store).

Uneven Width: The door was originally a part of a pair. This was the door that stayed closed most of the time and never had any lock hardware  installed. The main quirk is it's rabbeted edge (stepped edge or lip). This edge interlocked with the edge of the other door to create a gapless connection, which is useful for minimizing draft and optimizing insulation. However, it's pointless without the other door. With the edge, the door is 30" and without the edge, the door is 29 1/2". If you need the door 30", we could fill in step with wood, to create a full, square edge. If you need the door 29  1/2" or narrower, we could cut off the edge--message us for a quote.

Condition: Considering  the door is about 100 years old, they are  strong, sturdy and   in great condition. It only has nicks, scratches, and small chips  but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious  issues. Most of the  blemishes that they have will disappear   after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever   remains will be subtle, "character marks"

Swing: The door is set up to swing into the room towards the left, or away   towards the right. We could change the swing--email   us for a quote.

Modification: We  could modify the door to fit your opening or  suite your  needs. We  could make a frame, trim or add to the height  or width,  reverse  the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us  with a  small  description of what you would like done, and we'll  give you a   quote.
