Beautiful, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is painted on both sides.

Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine   hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than young  pine.

The door has a window with old, wavy glass and 3 raised panels below on both sides. On the exterior side, there is beautiful, applied (raised) molding around the window and panels

Hardware: The door comes without hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out the "Hardware" section of our store).

Condition: Considering the door is well over 100 years old, it's strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".

All of the glass is also intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches.

Swing: The door is set up to swing into a home towards the right, or away towards the left. We could modify either door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote.

Modification: We could modify either door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could trim or add to the heights or widths, reverse the swings, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what  you  would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
