48"x80" Pair Antique Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged French Double Wood Doors 20 Windows Textured Glass

Beautiful pair of antique double  doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The doors have a solid Douglas fir core covered in 1/8" thick birch veneers. The doors are painted on the exterior side and stained on the interior side.

Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door.

Each door has an impressive arrangement of 10, true-divided windows with old, textured glass.The doors have 20 windows with 20 textured glass lites. 18 have the same pattern, while 2 are unique (1 pebbled pattern and 1 honeycomb).


Hardware: Neither door comes equipped with hardware.
If you would like to add hardware to the doors, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).

Uneven Width:
The width of both doors were unevenly cut by 1/4". The cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut   either door to an even height/width, or cut it/them narrower/shorter, or even build them up to be wider/taller--message us for a quote.

Condition: The doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They only have nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Door#1 has a few minor breaks in the veneer (see 5th photo).
Otherwise, most of the blemishes that they have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks".

Except 1 cracked glass lite (see 6th photo), all of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches.

Modification: We could also modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with panels etc. Email us with a small description of what  you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
