Antique Vintage Old Victorian Eastlake SOLID Wood Wooden Carved Side Dining Accent Desk Chair Caned Cane Seat

Distressed, solid wood, antique dining chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The chair is made of a solid hardwood (most likely maple or birch) and has a caned seat. Although it's stained and finished (unpainted), there are many spots where the finish is worn and stain is missing.

It has a gorgeous, Eastlake style design which includes 6 small turned spindles and 3 panels with carvings in the backrest. The front 2 legs and the 2 horizontal stretchers which connect them, are also turned (round, ornate carvings).

The seat is caned. Although it's intact with no breaks or snags, it's sagging in the middle and could use a tightening.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to glue or reinforce anything. Expect nicks and scratches, but no breaks, gouges, rot, or warp. Overall, the chair is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.
