Lovely, Arts & Crafts style table salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's made of solid cypress and has a beautiful, medium-stained finish.


If you're not familiar with cypress, it's considered a soft wood, but it's quite durable and rot-resistant. It is very popular in the South because it could stand up to the high humidity.

Although the table is small, it's quite stylish and has a lot of character. The top is an octagon. There are 4 legs on the straight legs on the table connected together underneath the top by stretchers (rails/boards that connect legs), and again at the bottom. The stretchers at the bottom of the table intersect forming an "X"

Our carpenter inspected the piece from top to bottom and said that all 7 parts of the table are secured with screws. Essentially, the whole table could be disassembled with a flathead screw driver. This is a great feature if you want to paint or refinish the table--easy to take apart and put back together. He said that it was well-built and there are no weak spots.

There are nicks, small dents, and scratches here and there. The worst damage on the item is the finish on the top is worn, Most likely due to friction and water. (See 4th photo). However, there are no breaks, cracks, gouges, or any other serious flaws. This table is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service!
