Elegant, antique, rocking chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's made of solid pine.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine  hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees  hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Notice the beautiful, floral, painted design at the top of the backrest, and lovely, gold painted design all over.

The paint is wearing off on 3 main spots (see last, 2 photos). However, this can be simply touched up, and is otherwise unnoticeable unless you are inspecting the piece for any blemishes.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs, nor needed to reinforce anything. All of the joints are tight, and there is no looseness at any point.

The chair is clean with very few nicks and light scratches. This chair is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service!
