Lovely, vintage shutters salvaged from a 1920's home in Princeton, NJ (see last photo). The set consists of 2 pairs (4 panels/sections) of shutters that are joined together by hinges. Each panel/section has a single opening filled with adjustable louvers that swivel up and down by lifting and lowering the vertical, bar/rod which is called the louver arm.

Although the home was built in the 1920's, these were made sometime during the 1960's when the owners built an addition to the back of the home.

The shutters are fully equipped with all of their original hardware: 8 brass-plated steel hinges and a steel swing latch with keeper. All of the hardware is functional and in great shape.

Not only was the beautiful home well-maintained over the years, but the homeowners went the extra mile ensuring that the shutters were removed carefully and stored in a dry environment. The only reason that they replaced them is because they wanted to paint them green and the cost to do that was more than buying new, cheaper, vinyl shutters that were already the green color that they wanted. They stored these original shutters for years hoping to reuse them in some way, but eventually figured that they should find someone who could use them instead. They sold them to us and now we are offering them to you.

The louvers on 2 of panels/sections of Set#1 were stuck and we accidentally broke the edges of the 2 louvers at one end while trying to loosen them (see close up photo). They just need to be glued back and touched up with some white paint.

Otherwise, all panels/sections are in great condition with only the typical nicks and scratches that you would would expect to find on old, used shutters. All louvers are attached to the arms and all arms move up and down with ease.

Also, unlike most old, painted shutters, the paint is not thick and overwhelming. Just a light sanding and they are ready to repaint.

The shutters are strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service.
