Lovely, vintage stool salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. It's made of Cherry and has a dark stain color.

From what we can tell, the top is definitely made of cherry wood, however the rest of the stool was painted with a faux, grain finish which makes it look like a wood grain. As a result, we can't determine the type of wood of the painted parts.

The former owner was also the builder and did a fine job! Notice the dowels he used to join all parts together (the darker colored circles where two parts meet).

The stool top has a few scratches, small dents and a thin crack along the middle (see last 2 photos). However, all of the blemishes but the few dents are only seen when you are thoroughly inspecting the piece with appropriate lighting. 

Our carpenter inspected the piece from top to bottom and said that all of the joints are tight, and there are no weak spots what-so-ever. This stool is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service!

It could be used indoors and outdoors. It could be used as a stool for gardening, for your child to stand on to reach the sink or counter in the kitchen, or even as a plant stand.
