Vintage Old Reclaimed Salvaged Wood Wooden Handmade Toy Doll Kitchen Hutch Cabinet Server Furniture
Cute, vintage, homemade, toy hutch salvaged from Northeastern PA. It is made of solid knotty pine and is unpainted and unfinished. The backing is a maple plywood.
The top has 2 shelves, each with a thin groove for standing and displaying dishes. The bottom has a single compartment/cabinet with 2 swinging doors. Notice the swiveling latch in between the doors which spins to lock/unlock the doors--what a great detail!
A father made it for his daughter who played with, "American Girl," dolls about 20 years ago. It was built with love which is why it's not only beautiful but very solid and sturdy.
Although it was used as a toy, it could certainly be used as a light-duty cabinet in a kitchen or dining room.
The piece has nicks and light scratches, but no breaks, cracks, dents, rot, warp, etc.
Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the piece and found no repairs to make, nor anything to glue or reinforce. He was impressed with the cabinet's construction and condition. He joked that since the piece looks like it was barely used, the father built it more for himself than his daughter.
